Buy one print (excluding limited edition prints & originals) in my Etsy shop and get a 2nd one free. This includes the newly listed Mother's Day Prints. I will send them out within one day to make sure you get the prints before Mother's Day.
Just convo me or put in your "message to seller" the name of the free 2nd print that you want and I will send them both together.
Happy Freebie Thursday!

Artists Who Blog Interview
I am proud to be the featured artist this month on Artists Who Blog. Thanks so much to Stephanie Levy for interviewing me and for the post. I really appreciate it.
My husband's family is in town from Boston and Vermont so we spent the day by their pool watching all the kids play. So much fun. Sam was exhausted by the time we got home and so are we.
Gotta get some work done.

Well, I wanted to get 10 paintings finished for Mother's Day and I did! Finished the last one late last night. Whew! This was a lot of work and I realized (again) that I work much better when I have a deadline. Of course I am much more stressed but I do get a lot more work done. I was going to post them on Monday but since I finished them all I thought... why not? Now I can relax and have a beer tonight while watching Grey's Anatomy.
Ian's family is coming this weekend too so I didn't want to be thinking about work the whole week. Feels so good to get this done. Yay!
Have a good weekend (saying that now because I doubt if I'll post anything tomorrow).
All of these paintings are available at my shop. Prints are also available here.

Work in Progress
Yesterday my dear friend Outi asked about my BIG painting that I'm doing for our dining room. I mentioned it in a previous post. Well, here is what I've got so far. It's unfinished but I'm afraid that now that it's actually hung on the wall I'll never get around to finishing it. We'll see.
Still busily working on some Mother's Day goodies that will hopefully be posted on Monday the 27th. Stay tuned.
Today is gorgeous but I just spent well over an hour at the DMV (always fun) getting our car registered in North Carolina. We are officially residents of NC now. That was the last thing to do. Feels good.
By the way, thank you SO much to everyone who wrote about my Urban Outfitters gig. That's the first time I hit double digits on the comments! Thanks so much for the support. Makes me very happy.

My Work is at Urban Outfitters!
Very exciting news...my work can now be found at Urban Outfitters! They licensed the rights to "joone", "ebb" and "the arrival" for wall art a few months ago and they are now available online. These are giclee prints stretched on canvas. Click here to see "joone" and here to see "ebb". I don't see "the arrival" on their site yet but maybe that one will only be available in stores. They should be in stores by the end of this month.
Unfortunately, we don't have an Urban Outfitters in Asheville so I'll have to wait until we go to Cincy in May to check them out. Yay! So exciting. I love this store!

Daily Drawing - "three" & "all I need"
Rowe, Me, Sammy & Mel
"three"
"all I need"
As I write this my son has literally been eating dinner for an hour and a half. He won't stop eating. We're 10 minutes from his bedtime and he hasn't had a bath or anything. We're now just giving him bread in attempt to fill him up. What's happening?
Anyway, I took a couple of days off to hang with my dear friends Mel and Rowe in from LA and Miami. We had such a good time. It's SO nice to have friends that, no matter how often you see them, you just pick up where you left off. Yesterday we took a nice stroll downtown and sat outside drinking beer and people watching. Last night we went out to dinner and had a blast. Sam was very fond of both of them. He even gave them goodnight kisses.
I'm posting 2 daily drawings because I didn't post one yesterday. Also, I want to let everyone know that I have to postpone the daily drawings for a while. I am busily working on some Mother's Day goodies (to be posted at the end of the month) and have committed to 2 gallery shows coming up. So, I have spread myself a little too thin. But I hope to return to the drawings someday. I loved doing it and having something to post every day. But I'll keep posting...
Have a great weekend!!
Oh, yea...both drawings are available at my Etsy shop.

Daily Drawing - "fine and dandy"
"fine and dandy"
Gloomy day. Seems like it rains A LOT here but I think coming from LA any amount of rain is a lot. But the good thing about that is the gorgeous green popping up and everything seems to be blooming. We bought our house in October of last year so seeing the trees and plants around our house bloom is really exciting. We didn't really know what was there. There is a Dogwood tree right outside one of our windows that is starting to bloom with tiny rose-colored flowers. Each time I look out that window it's like a perfectly framed image of Spring.
Today's drawing seemed appropriate because we also have Dandelions all over our yard. My husband and I have never done any gardening so our lawn desperately needs to be cut and we have a lot of what we think are weeds but we aren't really sure. A whole new learning experience for both of us. But an exciting one.
As always the drawing is available at my shop.
Happy Gloomy Monday!
Happy Easter Monday!

Daily Drawing - "when are you coming home?"
"when are you coming home?"
Just got back from yet another Easter egg hunt. Sam took his time but he managed to get a few in his basket. He didn't really care what was inside of them (chocolate for me!). I've eaten more sugar in the past hour than I have in weeks. I'm crashing.
Happy Thursday. Spring is back...I hope!
Today's drawing is in my shop.

Daily Drawing - "my own worst enemy"
"my own worst enemy"
Yay! The sun is out and it's warming up. Watched Idol last night and got a lot of drawing done. Now back to painting...on wood. No more walls to paint. At least not until the weekend. I've got my eye on a gorgeous red for one of the kitchen walls. Can't even imagine what the baseboards are going to look like after that one!
Today's drawing is kind of a self-portrait. Sometimes my crazed "middle-of-the-night-I-can't-sleep" thoughts get the better of me. Must learn not to dwell on things out of my control. Sadly, I've been saying this to myself for years. Anyway, the drawing is at my Etsy shop.
Happy Wednesday.

Sam's Room Finished!
Whew! What a job this was! Four days! But it's finished and I love it. Now I want to do the rest of the house. How quickly we forget, right? We're going to get some decals of trucks, bulldozers, etc. to put on the walls going up and down the green hills. He is SO into anything truck or construction related. Such a boy! I'll post pics of that when we get them but thought you might want to see what I've been laboring over.
Wish I could take the night off but I've got drawings to do and Idol to watch.
Have a good night!
Daily Drawing - "can't shake you"
Well, it was in the 70's over the weekend and today it's in the 40's and snowing! The snow is pretty though. Big flakes. Looks like the inside of a snow globe.
Today's drawing is big - 11" x 14". Not sure what got into me. It's available at my Etsy shop.
Thanks to all out there for sharing your painting nightmares and tips. Unfortunately, I peeled the tape from the bottom today and the baseboards are an absolute mess. Green all over them. So, I guess I won't be finished today. Gotta get that tiny brush out and go over them. Ugh. But the rest of it looks good. I guess Sam will have one more night in the Pak n' Play. He doesn't seem to mind though.
Hope it's not snowing where you are.

Daily Drawing - "hatched"
I know it's a week early but the festivities of this past weekend made me want to post this one today. It's kind of fun getting into the whole Easter thing for Sam.
Still busy painting Sam's room. I'll be finished later today. I have a whole new respect for people who paint like that for a living. I have managed to get paint everywhere! And I'm afraid to take that tape off.
I'll post pics soon.
Happy Monday.
Today's drawing is available at my Etsy shop.

Eggstravaganza!!!
not too happy about sitting on Easter Bunny's lap
the "hunt"
Sam with his eggs.
Sam & his firefighter buddies
"time for a nap"
We took Sam to the local Easter celebration yesterday and it was packed with kids. He "hunted" eggs in the toddler area and then we went to see the Easter Bunny. He seemed excited and as we approached the bunny he was waving excitedly but as soon as we tried to put him on his lap he was NOT happy. In fact you could hear the crying babies all day long around that area. I guess the bunny did seem a little creepy.
Sam saw a firetruck and that was pretty much it for the rest of the day. He must have walked around the firetruck at least 10 times. Such a boy.
Excited for dyeing eggs this week.
Daily Drawing - "chosen"
"chosen"
I usually take Sunday off on the daily drawing thing but since I didn't post yesterday I thought I would today. I've been busily painting (walls & my art) so I'm running low on the drawings. Glad that American Idol is coming up.
This drawing is at my Etsy shop.
Paint, paint, paint
"Waterfall" & "Hep Green"
Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I've been painting Sam's room all weekend and still have more painting to do tomorrow. But I'm really happy with the colors so far. His room is the darkest in the house which is good for getting him to nap in the middle of the day but the lack of light really changes colors (for the worse). Above are the colors that I chose after buying many, many, many sample pots. I'll post pics of his room when I'm finished. But thought I'd share the colors since they make me so happy. For those interested they are Sherwin Williams "Waterfall" & "Hep Green". Perfect colors for this gorgeous day.
Later today I'll post cute pics from the Eggstravaganza we went to yesterday. So cute.
Hope you're enjoying your weekend.

Daily Drawing - "blossoming love"
"blossoming love"
Today's daily drawing is available at my Esty shop. Easter is coming up so I brought out the pink pen again. We have some exciting Easter festivities with Sam this weekend and next week. I'll be sure to take some pics.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Daily Drawing - "sheltered life"
"sheltered life"
Today's drawing is available at my Etsy shop. This drawing was definitely inspired by the plants in a previous post. I have since found out that they are called May Apples. A small white "apple" will eventually bloom on them. Now I love them even more.
Not much going on today so this will be a short post. Planning on some Mother's Day goodies so, stay tuned.
Easter is just around the corner too. I think we'll try dyeing eggs with Sam. He'll probably be more into the box that the dye comes in but we'll see. I'm planning on painting his room this weekend. I'm nervous because I'm not crazy about the living room color that I painted a couple of weeks ago. But I'll take pics to post.

Daily Drawing - "to each his own"
"to each his own"
Because American Idol was on last night I got a lot of drawing done. I used color on a couple of them, as promised. But one of the drawings is just plain weird, even for me. Not sure I'll ever post that one. Maybe if I run out of ideas someday!
Hope you're all having a wonderful Wednesday. The sun is shining. Yay! Today's daily drawing is available at my Etsy shop.
