New Painting
I actually got out the old paints and painted for the first time since Sam was born. This was my gift to my husband and Sam. It felt so great to paint again and now I know I have the time. Just have to find the energy! This painting is titled "us".

Holiday Gift Bazaar - this Saturday
I'll be participating in a gift bazaar this weekend in Santa Monica. If you live in L.A. please stop by and say hello. I'll be selling cards, flat prints, prints on wood and originals. I'll be sharing a space with my good friend Outi who will be selling her gorgeous ceramics.

As requested...
Just read the comment by my dear friend Cathy for more pics of my son Sam. This is one of my recent faves.
Is it holiday season already???
My husband went to Starbucks last week and they gave him a Christmas-themed bag. Yikes! It was the day before Halloween. Of course it gets earlier and earlier each year but it got my head spinning. I have so much to do and not much time to do it.
I'm up in the middle of the night with Sam every night and this is the perfect time for my brain to spin out of control. Each morning I wake up with several more items to add to my to do list. Trying to stay calm.

Our Trip to Vermont: The Flight
Ian and Sam and I just got back from our week long trip to Vermont to visit Ian's family. We had a wonderful time. I was pretty nervous about traveling with Sam but he was great. On our first flight to JFK he was in such a good mood. Looking around and taking it all in. Didn't cry at all. But on our connecting flight to Burlington he had had enough. He pretty much screamed the entire descent and we became those people with the screaming baby. It's what I worried about the most. But really all that mattered was that Sam was unhappy. And now I've had that moment and know that, while not fun, it wasn't the end of the world. He was just expressing exactly what we were feeling..."I want out!"
Once we got to our hotel in Burlington, took him out of the car seat and laid him on the bed he was so happy. Once again, expressing what we were feeling..."Finally, we made it!" If it were socially acceptable to scream and cry we would have been doing that on that last flight too.

New Drawings
Since having my beautiful son Sam I haven't really had the time to paint, although I've never been more inspired in my entire life! Mixing colors and getting into the painting zone isn't something that I can do for 5 minutes and put it down. Sometimes I wish I could work that way. So lately I've been drawing instead. I use Micron pens with a super fine point on bristol board. I also use metallic ink. They're really fun and I can easily stop and start the process.
They are currently available only at my Etsy store and at Ten Women Gallery in Venice, CA.
I'll be doing smaller, unframed drawings for the holidays. They'll be posted on Etsy.

Hello!
My first blog entry. I had dinner last night with my good friends and fellow artists Marisa and Outi. A rare night out after having my son, Sam, almost 3 months ago. Once again, we had the "to blog or not to blog" conversation. I've always been intrigued by the whole blogging thing and really enjoy reading other blogs but when it came time to write my own I never thought I had anything to say. Well, I'm giving it a try.
It's always so nice to see my friends. I always walk away from our dinners feeling inspired and loved. Thank you Outi and Marisa and Cathy from New York. I'm so thankful to have you in my life.
As I write this my son (still feels so strange to say that and I think it's the first time that I wrote it) is next to me in his bouncy seat squealing and smiling at the light fixture above. It melts my heart. And so I thought it appropriate to have Sam be the first photo on my blog. He truly is amazing.
