New Painting for Firefly Gallery

My dear friend Cathy Nichols is opening a gallery in Centerport, NY called Firefly Artists. My prints and prints on wood will be sold there. In honor of the grand opening on May 8th, I painted a new painting with a new firefly creature. The painting is titled "nightflying".

A new painting has just been listed in my Etsy shop. This painting is much larger (11" x 17") than most of my paintings from the past couple of years. I have to say it was wonderful to have so much space to work with. I have several more sketches for larger pieces so... stay tuned.

I just finished these last night. And yes, my creatures are back. It wasn't really possible to paint Valentine's paintings without them. But I really enjoyed painting them again.

Some of these paintings are VERY tiny (2" x 2"). My husband is now cutting my art boards for me and we had a lot of scrap leftover so I just had those cut into tiny pieces.

Happy Holidays!

All of our presents are wrapped and under the tree. Tomorrow is going to be a big day, especially for Sam. This year he is into superheroes so that is pretty much the theme. Looking forward to a lazy day of opening presents, eating our traditional cinnamon rolls and hanging out with my boys. It feels kind of strange to have nothing to do but wait for Christmas morning. But I'm just going to go with it.
