Mother's Day Giveaway

"tiny sprout of mine"

I'm having another giveaway for Mother's Day! I am so fortunate to have an amazing mom AND an amazing son so Mother's Day is very special to me. All you have to do to enter is write a comment on this post either about your own mother or what being a mother means to you. I did this last year and it was so touching to read the comments. The winner will receive 2 free prints from my 2010 Mother's Day collection.

My mom is coming to visit for Mother's Day so I will have her pick the winner's name out of a hat. The winner will be announced on, of course, Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Week!

  1. I love my mother so much! i don't know what i would do without her in my life. She is the one person that I know will love me no matter what I do. She always tells me that if i ever get angry at her and leave, she would follow me wherever i go and never give up on talking to me. I love her so much for the love she gives to me.

  2. Being a mom has given purpose to my life. It expanded the world in infinite ways. I know my children will never understand how much I love them until they have children of their own.

  3. My mom has been a strong, single woman for most of her adult life, and has done everything in her power to foster that same fierce independence in me. She has allowed me to grow on my own but has never been too far for me to come to her when I needed her. Her love has always been free-flowing & generous and one day a year just simply isn't enough to show her my appreciation.

  4. My Mom is wonderful! She has always been wonderful since I was little. She has been my teacher, my friend, and my biggest fan. She has shown me how to be smart, funny, loving, kind, and brave. She has shown me how to be a Mom. This Mothers Day she is coming to visit me and she is going to help me find me a wedding dress! She has always been there for every step of my journey. She taught me how to climb mountains!

  5. What a lovely idea, and I so enjoyed reading the comments thus far. I am so fortunate to have such a wonderful Mom. She has been so supportive in all I have chosen to do, only gives advice when asked, and is such a fun women to spend time with. She is amazing in all that she has accomplished, and wowed me by running her first 5k at 55! She rocks. I hope to be half the mother and women that she is.

  6. My Mom is the best person I know. I'm very happy to know that not only do I look a lot like her our personalities match so well. She is not just a mother but a friend and right now as my husband and I are trying to start our own family I am truly greatful for all she has taught me and all I still have to learn from her

  7. My mother has always been a source of strength, inspiration, companionship, support, comfort, and love. She always stands by my side so effortlessly; I didn’t truly understand what that meant. I am expecting my own little girl in August and already I feel the joy and heartache that comes with motherhood. I have grown such admiration for my mother. I look forward to everything she can teach me as a grandmother.

  8. Mothering my daughter has healed for me much of what was missing in my relationship with my own mother. It is amazing, what one gets from giving. I have tried to love my own children unconditionally, to simply convey to them through heart, words, and action that they are intrinsically lovable and good, and that there is nothing they can ever do or be that would cause me to love them less. I have not been the perfect mother, that's for sure, and there are things I would do differently if I had The Magic Time Machine. But I do know that they know I love them, and that is the most beautiful knowing I, and they, can have.

  9. My mom reminds me of the Beastie Boy's album, Paul's Boutique, because when PB came out, none of us fans liked it - we thought the Beasties were a little off their rockers. After a few years, we realized they were just ahead of the curve... Yup, that's my mom!

  10. Being a Mom has been the most challenging and rewarding thing I have ever done. I learn from my daughter every day as she learns from me. I strive everyday to be a better person to set the best example I can for her. And I had never experienced unconditional love until she came into my life.

  12. My mom is the best mom in the world. She got pregnant very young, at the age of 21 and after having a lot of people telling her what to do, she decided to go ahead with the pregnancy. I was born and she left her career to take care of me. And she always says that it was her best decission in her life.

So when mothers day arrives, I always think that there is not present big enough, expensive enough or beautiful enough for her. Except some art won by myself talking about her, like your presents!

    Take care!

  13. My mother is, of course, a mother - and an A+ mother at that. She is also an artist, a wife and a beautiful woman. She's a pessimist, but she balances her pessimism with a healthy dose of good faith. She's soft-spoken, but she balances her meek voice with a healthy dose of gumption when it counts.
I can't spend mother's day with my mom this year because she'll be in Tennessee taking care of her mother, where she's been 80% of the time for nearly the last two years. Gotta love her.

A note on your art: I viewed many of your pieces when visiting Shelly in Asheville and asked later about your work. I really love it. Very whimsical, unique and fun!

  15. I'm 27 years old and I still need my mom like I did when I was 2. I may not need to be fed, dressed, or washed by her anymore... but I will always need her strength, support and unconditional love.

  16. Although my mom and I haven't been as close as we used to since I started college three years ago, I've been thinking lately about how much she means to me. Just knowing she's there for me is a wonderful feeling and I don't know what I'm going to do when I don't have that anymore. We've been through a lot together and she's done so much for me over the years. I just hope she's happy in her life.

  17. I did not know there was a mothers`s day giveaway, but now I know, and I know I`m to late anyway. I just wanted to share my thoughts.
I bought the print "part of me" because I found it when I was pregnant. I felt the print talk to me, me beeing the tree and the baby beeing the tiny branch. I then lost the baby and was completely heartbroken. I have a 3-year old, but should also have been 8 months pregnant with my second child. I look at the print, and it means so much to me, but somehow i just can`t put it in a frame and hang it on my wall. I am a mother, 1 only have one daughter, but in my heart a have two.
