Featured on Little Brown Rabbit Today

I am the featured artist on "Mummy Monday" today on the wonderful Little Brown Rabbit blog. I have "known" Emma for years and she is always so kind with comments and has even purchased an original painting from me. You can read about what an average day is like for me here.

Thank you so much to Emma for doing this. It was very difficult to find the time to paint once I had Sam but for all you new artist mom's out there that are struggling let me just say that it does get easier. The age 4 is a magical age and it comes with a lot of independence. Hang in there!

Thanks again, Emma!

First Day of Pre-School

Sam's first day of pre-school was today. Sniff, sniff. Last night I went into his room and he was sitting on the floor with his backpack. I asked him what he was doing and he said "Packing my backpack for school tomorrow." I looked in the backpack and he had 4 boxes of crayons and some Star Wars figures in there. So. Damn. Cute.

Ian and I both got teary-eyed dropping his off this morning but as soon as Sam got inside the school he turned to us with a big smile and said "Bye".

Picking him up was bittersweet. As soon as he saw us he ran to us with a look that I can only describe as "joyful". He was so happy and excited to tell us about his day. And then when he got close to us he fell and skinned his knee pretty badly. He cried all the way home but in between the tears he told us how much fun he had at school.

Ugh. It's going too fast. But I'm so proud of him.
