Well, the movers arrived at 8:30 am and got the job done in 3 1/2 hours. Ian stayed up all night packing and Sam woke up at 4:45 am so needless to say we were extremely tired and stressed well before the sun came up. By the end of the day our house was empty and spotless. Kinda nice.
We soon realized that the box that had been set aside to go with us in the car was packed up by the movers. At first we thought it was just the cribbage board and snacks. No big deal. But then we remembered...our new cooler, the camera batter charger, the cell phone charger, the thingy that transfers the digital images from the camera to the computer...all in the box. So, a blog post without pictures. For now. We plan to buy the stuff once we get to Casa Grande. Pictures of our empty house will be posted soon.
We're looking forward to sleeping on our air mattress kindly donated by our friends Rachel, Marc & Iris. It looks so comfy in our former bedroom. Sam was exhausted and filthy by the end of day so fell right to sleep in his Pak n Play. Let's hope he makes it through the night.
We're waiting for our friends Jeff & Liz to stop by with takeout. More tomorrow. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

more goodbyes...
I've said goodbye to some amazing people this week. Ugh. It gets harder and harder as we get closer to moving. Salvation Army came today to pick up a lot of furniture so our place officially looks like we're moving (well, the half-packed boxes help too). There's an echo in here now. But Sam loves the open space as he is really walking now.
I saw Nathan Cartwright of The Hive this week. I pretty much owe my career to him. He put me in my first show at The Hangar and then gave me a solo show at The Hive. Thanks so much, Nathan, for believing in me.
I also said goodbye to 2 dear friends, Marisa & Outi (pictured above). We've shared so much together on our girl's nights and I'm going to miss them terribly. Love you girls!
And last night I said goodbye to my friend Joe who I've known for almost 20 years. We've lived in Chicago, New York and LA together. Not sure if he'll it make it to Asheville but my fingers are crossed. Love you, Joe.
One more week to go and we're on the road. Yippeeee!!

Let the Goodbyes Begin...
Andee Eve Husney
My space-mate Alex Schaefer
Walt Hall
Greg Gould
Jimmy Bleyer
We're moving in less than 2 weeks. Yikes! And I've started to say goodbye to some friends and co-workers. I'm very excited for our journey but now the realization has kicked in that we're actually leaving and I may never see some of these great people again.
Last week was my last meeting at Ten Women Gallery. This is where it all started for me and I'm going to really miss these women.
And last Thursday was my last artwalk at The Hive where I said goodbye to the amazing artists that I met there. They were all so nice to me and I loved hanging out with them at the openings and artwalks.
Above are a few pics of the Hivers...
I'll miss you!
